Structure

Pal is the first cylindrical robot developed in Korea, designed to overcome the limitations of traditional cylindrical robots, which are typically restricted to front-facing tasks. Pal’s innovative structure allows for 360-degree operation, fully utilizing the cylindrical workspace. This design enables a significantly broader range of motion compared to conventional robots, maximizing efficiency and versatility.

Unique Square Design

Pal breaks the stereotype that robots must resemble humans, introducing the world’s first rectangular design for a robot. Departing from traditional curves or cylindrical shapes, Mintrobot has established a unique identity with its rectangular and streamlined design. This innovative and futuristic aesthetic is inspired by the robots featured in the movie Interstellar, reflecting a bold and original vision for robotic design.

Materials and Colors

Pal is crafted from durable Duralumin, combining high strength and lightweight properties. CNC machining maximizes precision while minimizing errors, and anodizing enhances corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and insulation. The sandblasted green and black finish underscores Mintrobot's commitment to aesthetic excellence—an uncommon feature in industrial settings.

This enhances the material's strength, making it more resistant to dents and scratches.
It also provides excellent corrosion resistance and a luxurious silvery sheen, offering both durability and aesthetic appeal.

Reach
Pal utilizes the full cylindrical workspace, covering a 600mm radius and heights ranging from 300mm to 1200mm. Unlike traditional articulated robots, which operate within a spherical range, Pal’s cylindrical design enables it to work in broader spaces.
Speed
Pal's rotational axes achieve speeds of up to 540°/second, with the vertical axis reaching an impressive 1,500mm/second. This speed is approximately three times faster than conventional collaborative robots, addressing productivity issues that collaborative robots have previously been unable to resolve.
Reach
Pal utilizes the full cylindrical workspace, covering a 600mm radius and heights ranging from 300mm to 1200mm. Unlike traditional articulated robots, which operate within a spherical range, Pal’s cylindrical design enables it to work in broader spaces.

Safety

Certicifaction
Pal has been awarded domestic KCS safety certification and European CE certification, ensuring a higher standard of safety for users.
* The Pal has obtained European safety certification CE (ISO 12100:2010, ISO 13849-1:2015, EN 60204-1:2018, ISO 10218-1:2011) and has filed a voluntary safety confirmation report according to the Occupational Safety and Health Act. It also meets the 2006/42/EC Machinery Directive.
Collision Detection Algorithm
Pal features an advanced collision detection algorithm, comparable to those found in conventional collaborative robots. If the robot malfunctions or is improperly programmed and collides with an object, it detects the collision and immediately stops. This feature prevents damage to the robot and other equipment while ensuring human safety.

Usability

All-In-One Design
Pal does not require a separate control box, unlike other industrial or collaborative robots. All control components are integrated into the robot body, and the robot only needs to be powered via the provided adapter. This simplifies the configuration of the entire device, including the robotic arm, keeping it straightforward and efficient.
Scalability
Pal incorporates Mintrobot’s Software-Defined Robotics technology and seamlessly integrates with other systems using Mintrobot’s TERMINAL middleware. Through network technology, the robot can be monitored and controlled in any software environment. It enables easy integration with various ICT technologies, including artificial intelligence, IoT, and smart factories, facilitating expansion into diverse systems. Additionally, TERMINAL’s web-based control interface simplifies the development of cloud-based monitoring systems.
Direct Teaching
Like conventional collaborative robots, Pal utilizes a compliance control algorithm to enable direct teaching. Users can easily move the robot by hand to the desired position, allowing for quick and intuitive programming of robot actions.
